My name is Sara Houk and I am so happy to be starting my 16th year teaching Spanish here at Sacred Heart School.
I am originally from Dubuque. I attended St.Ambrose University in Davenport where I graduated from in 1990. My husband and I have lived in Norwalk for almost 33 years. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
I meet with the middle school students twice a week and fifth grade students once a week for 45 minutes. In middle school we cover lots of vocabulary with an emphasis on speaking, writing and reading. The students learn about subject/verb agreement, adjective placement and other important grammar points. We also learn about other cultures and how they relate to us.
I am very proud of how well our Sacred Heart students do in their high school foreign language classes!!
