Megan Lone

My name is Megan Lone, and I am so excited for the opportunity to be the Assistant Principal at Sacred Heart School! As a Sacred Heart alumna, it is truly a blessing to be back and a part of this community.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education with endorsements in Reading, Math, and Social Studies, from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Morningside University, and a Educational Leadership and Principalship certification from Viterbo University. I taught Middle School Reading & Language Arts at St. Augustin Catholic School in Des Moines for 13 years prior to coming to Sacred Heart. I was also able to serve in a leadership role as the middle school unit leader and lead teacher for five years at St. Augustin. 

I live in West Des Moines and am a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church. I have one son, James, who will be four. I spend most of my free time with him. I also enjoy reading and baking.  

I look forward to getting to know and work with all of the students, families, staff, and community members. I am passionate about Catholic education and am excited for the opportunity to be a part of your child/ren’s spiritual, academic, and emotional growth at Sacred Heart.
