Hello Sacred Heart Preschool Families!

My name is Lisa Van Blair (Mrs. Van Blair). I am excited to meet all of you and be your child’s preschool teacher this year! Preschool is a bridge between home and school and I am looking forward to working with you this year on your child's education. The children will make new friends and learn to get along with other peers and adults. The year will be full of new experiences that will encourage your child to grow developmentally through age appropriate activities as well as develop a love for school.

A little about me: I graduated from the University of Iowa (Go HAWKS!) in Dec. of 1999 with an elementary teaching degree specializing in early childhood education. I taught preschool for a few years in Overland Park, KS, and then moved to West Des Moines.

After moving to West Des Moines I had a home childcare business for 8 years. Once my children were well into school I was excited to begin working outside of the home again and taught preschool at West Des Moines Christian Church for a year. I am looking forward now to my twelth year teaching preschool at Sacred Heart!

When I am not working I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. My husband Andy is an Occupational Therapist and we have two children, Lexi and Carter. Lexi teaches fourth grade in Urbandale, and Carter is a junior at Iowa State this year.
