Hello! My name is Amy Vollstedt and I am the Technology Coordinator/Instructor at SHS. My duties include computer and Makerspace classes with all students in grades TK-8. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I maintain our network, train faculty and staff, purchase and repair equipment, and generally facilitate all technology procedures for the school and church.
I have been involved in Catholic education my entire life. I attended St. Joseph’s grade school in Dedham, Iowa, and I am a graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School, received a BA in Elementary Education from The University of Northern Iowa, and obtained my MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. This year marks my 35th year of teaching, all in Catholic Schools.
We are a 1 to 1 technology school. Students in grades K-2 have iPads and grades 3-8 have Chromebooks. Some of the things we do in Makerspace is coding, robotics, building challenges and keyboarding.
I am looking forward to another great year at Sacred Heart! I continue to feel very blessed to be part of such a supportive community of families and fellow educators.
