Reading: In Countdown, we are continuing to recognize beginning sounds of words and connecting those sounds to letters we can write down. We started Heart Words andp practice these by playing games. We also started writing words, making the letter-sound connection that we have been practicing so much! In Wonders, our focus question was What kind of bugs do you know about? We are reading stories and learning about and comparing different kinds of bugs, how they move, what they look like, and how big/small they are. Verbs are still a fun time in our learning! The kiddos are doing a great job identifying them in sentences, and of course, acting them out:) |
Math: We have been working hard classifying and counting data. We continue to compare numbers in these groups. Soon we will begin our unit on addition, talking about the concepts of: putting together, adding to, plus sign, and equations. |
Handwriting: We continue to learn about the formation of lowercase letters and using these letters when we write. |
Religion: Making good choices was the theme of the week! We talked about how God the Holy Spirit helps us make good choices. We read a Veggietales story where Larry had to choose to follow the right path, or cheat and take the shortcut. We also read about and discussed the Ten Commandments. Those are rules from God that guide us to make good choices. |
